The idea for Lanowool and the first products – woolen nursing pads – arose in 1998, when
Lene Alexandersen became a mother for the second time.
At the time, Lene lived with her husband in New Zealand and when breastfeeding her newborn child,
she often experienced discomfort in the form of, among other things, sore breasts and skin
irritation. At the same time, she was able to ascertain that there were no nursing pads,
either in New Zealand or Denmark, that could effectively remedy these problems.
The vision was to develop a comfortable and effective nursing pad, based on natural materials,
that could make breastfeeding a more pleasant experience for both mother and child.
In addition, Lanowool has developed to include a number of other and carefully selected quality
products for women and children.
